Dental Implants

What Are Dental Implants?

Anchored into the bone, dental implants provide a comfortable and convenient way to replace teeth lost through accidents or decay, which will last for almost a lifetime.
Titanium roots are fitted directly into the jaw and fuse with the bone over time through a process called osseointegration. Porcelain teeth are then fitted to this foundation, providing a strong, solid and long term replacement.

The Benefits of Dental implants

Choose a dental implant and you can simply forget about your false tooth, because it will look and feel just like your real teeth. Dental implants:
  • Are available to replace one or more missing teeth
  • Give you a firm, reassuring fit
  • Are as strong as natural teeth
  • Do not need removing to clean like dentures
  • Do not affect adjacent teeth like bridges

In-House CT Scanning

When it comes to planning more complex procedures, a CT scan of the jaw is an essential step. Unfortunately, with many practices, this can mean a significant delay to your treatment, as well as a long journey to the nearest dental scanning service.
At Baycliff, we do all our own CT scanning in-house, using the very latest, low dose 3D scanning technology, so there’s no need to travel and no waiting to get started on your treatment. To find out more, click here.

  • Who is a suitable candidate for dental implants?

  • How long does the dental implant process take?

The process usually takes 3-6 months, depending on your healing and the complexity of the case. This includes placing the implant, allowing it to fuse with the bone, and then attaching the custom-made crown.

With proper care and maintenance, dental implants can last a lifetime. Regular dental check-ups and good oral hygiene are essential to ensure their longevity.

  • Does getting a dental implant hurt?
